  Journey So Far
Baroda Clinical Laboratory commenced its operations as partnership firm in June 1995 at the Dandia Bazaar address. It was founded by Dr. Ravindra Pasale and Dr. Rohit Oza, both eminent teachers in the department of Pathology at SSG hospital and medical college, Vadodara. With 20 years of experience in Pathology in their hands, the lab excelled in the fields of surgical pathology. Dr. Udayan Kachchhi joined the venture in April 2003.

With joining of Dr. Udayan, the laboratory expanded itself into specialized fields of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and specialized Haematology in the year 2006. It took pride in being the first private set-up in Gujarat and one of the very few in country to have wide choice of markers in IHC to supplement the sound basis of histopathology. Today, the laboratory works with more than 60 markers.

In the subsequent year Dr. Bijal Shah and Dr. Deven Desai, both enthusiastic pathologists joined the laboratory. Both possess extra qualification, training and interest in the fields of Haematology and cytogenetics.

With advancing workload and spread of wings in the fields of haematology, clinical pathology, biochemistry, immunohistochemistry etc., the lab expanded itself into another location in Akota area of the city (appx. 3 km from the Dandia Bazaar). It changed its structure from a partnership firm to a private limited company in April 2008 and inducted Dr. Kachchhi as one of the directors.

At present, the laboratory operates from Dandia Bazaar (CT) branch and Akota (AK) branch. The work done at Dandia bazaar includes the grossing and processing of the biopsy specimen along with FNAC procedure and cytology preparations. It collects blood and relevant clinical pathology material to be processed at Akota branch.

The Akota branch collects and processes blood and relevant clinical pathology material and report from there itself. It also includes FNAC procedure and cytology staining in its scope of operations.

The Akota branch offers Frozen Section services from October 2011.

The laboratory, as policy and true to its motto ‘Constant Focus On Quality’, believes in taking utmost care in selection of its technical staff, their training and motivation. The laboratory has members trained for Cytotechnology from Tata Memorial Center, for histoprocessing at TMC and for IHC at TMC, AIIMS and Dako application center.

At present the scope of services of the laboratory include:
  1. Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry.
  2. Cytology.
  3. Haematology
  4. Biochemistry
  5. Clinical Pathology
  6. Serology.
The laboratory looks forward to advance its horizon in Immunology, Molecular biology & cytogenetics and Microbiology in future.
